Bourbon Chocolate Milkshake Recipe

This bourbon chocolate milkshake is the perfect adult shake! Use vanilla ice cream, your favorite bourbon, and baking cocoa for this combination dessert/nightcap!

This recipe is an “oldie but goodie” back from the days when I was a brand ambassador for Rodelle! If you’re new to Rodelle, they develop superior baking extracts and gourmet spice blends (and are some of my favorite additions to my spice rack!)

This all came about after I won the Windy City Bloggers/Rodelle blogger contest with my adaptation of Rodelle’s carrot cake. That recipe took a long time to make but it was seriously worth it (and not just because of the spice products I won!)

I had a lot of fun sharing recipes with Rodelle but that has slowed down a little bit over the past few years.

BUT, that doesn’t mean I can’t bring back the first one and my favorite one – this boozy bourbon chocolate milkshake!

Bourbon Chocolate Milkshake

This bourbon chocolate milkshake is an adaption of two recipes from the Rodelle website: Rodelle Boozy Cocoa Shakes recipe and Rodelle Vanilla Bean infused vodka. It uses both vanilla beans and baking cocoa.

Instead of vodka, I decided to use bourbon. You know me and my love of bourbon.

The day before you want to make these shakes, get your bourbon ready. Split 2 vanilla beans and put them in a mason jar, then cover them with the alcohol.

If you think you are going to make this recipe another day, do this step now so that the bourbon is ready for you when you are ready for it.

milkshake ingredients in a blender

Sift your dry ingredients together in a small bowl. As you can see from the picture above, it can get a little messy so make sure your bowl is big enough for your sifting.

Then combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend it up. It’s not a difficult recipe to make but definitely is a delicious one.

I see this recipe making it to the front of your “To-Make” list and many boozy milkshakes in your future!

This is delicious- I have made it twice! My question is the recipe calls for a cup of bourbon but down in the directions it says 1 ounce of bourbon. I used the cup the first time and it was definitely one and done! Thank you!
