The Perfect Outdoor Bar

The perfect outdoor bar is a mix of classic pieces and color. Keep it unisex by sticking with a fun, yet neutral palette and galvanized steel.

We have guests over more times than I can count throughout the year. In the summer, it seems like every weekend someone is here, hanging out in our backyard. Slowly, we have managed to create an outdoor bar area that suits both of us because outdoor living is where its at.

I love floral prints but unless I am in the mood for Pina coladas and daiquiris, I want a more industrial and unisex design. My perfect outdoor bar color scheme is black, turquoise and steel. Steel can be a color, right? Galvanized steel is just the material I want for my outdoor space!

Looking for more outdoor bar ideas? Head to your local Cost Plus World Market store (find the nearest location here). I head to the Chicago Lincoln Park location all of the time to ask the staff for ideas – I recommend that you do the same thing too! On multiple occasions, I knew I was looking for one last thing and a staff member was able to procure it out of thin air. I swear, Don was in my head that day.

This refreshing mocktail recipe by Lifestyle Expert Brandi Milloy can be prepped the night before or minutes before the guests arrive. It is the perfect addition to your outdoor bar parties.

Simply mix the cucumbers, mint, frozen limeade, sparkling water, and cucumber mint lemonade in a drink dispenser and add ice right before serving. Display your glassware and straws within easy reach and clearly label each refreshment for a self-serve bar that gets the party started right.
