My big cooking purchase this summer is going to be an ice cream maker – I don’t eat a lot of ice cream but I’m dying to make my own. I feel like making my own ice cream will help me limit the weird chemicals and preservatives that are in the store bought varieties. Obviously, if you make it yourself you can control what’s in it.
Coffee ice cream has been one of my favorites for a long time. My grandma used to keep some in her freezer – I will never forget the first time I ate it. I don’t know that I had even tried coffee yet but I was hooked on the ice cream right now. Years later, I had a roommate who loved coffee, and would keep pints of coffee ice cream in our freezer. I was always excited when she would come out to our living room with her ice cream and 2 spoons – one for her and one for me.
