If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day or any special occasion, chocolate fondue is the perfect dessert.

The first time I had delicious chocolate fondue was a glorious moment. All that chocolatey goodness – I definitely had a sugar high that day.

I was at a popular fondue restaurant years before I started this website. Even then, I was trying to figure out ways to have good fondue at home.

Enter the slow cooker.

It has brought me many savory delights over the years. Slow cooker sweet and spicy meatballs – the easiest appetizer ever.

Slow cooker mango pulled pork sandwiches – great for dinner or lunch. And slow cooker chicken tacos– whether in a lettuce wrap or bowl, you can’t go wrong.

I obviously love my crock pot.

The great thing about crockpot chocolate fondue is you don’t need one of those 3-tiered fondue fountains you see at weddings or a fondue pot.

This is one of the easiest desserts you can make. You can use an electric fondue pot if you have it, but if you don’t, a small crockpot and some wooden skewers are all you need.

Slow Cooker Chocolate Fondue Recipe

My slow cooker chocolate fondue recipe uses only 3 ingredients. You can easily buy them ahead of time and keep the ingredients in your pantry.

One of the ingredients is a jar of seedless raspberry jam. Not a fan? Substitute with your favorite jam flavor!

I usually place ramekins full of my favorite fruit next to the crock pot and prepare for fondue night.

This recipe is definitely chocolate fondue for a crowd. If you have leftovers, transfer them to an airtight container (like a mason jar!) and store them in the fridge for 3-4 days.

What Should I Dip into Chocolate Fondue

Many foods can be dipped into dessert fondue. Some examples of my favorite dippers are:

  • Fresh fruit – strawberries and banana slices.
  • Marshmallows
  • Cake – cubes of pound cake and angel food cake
  • Brownies
  • Rice crispy treat chunks
  • Graham crackers
  • Salty Potato Chips
  • Cinnamon Bears
  • Donut holes

What Tools Do I Need for Chocolate Fondue

You will need a mini slow cooker or a fondue pot for this easy dessert.

I usually use long wooden skewers to dip into the chocolate – they are cheap, and I always have them in a drawer.

If you plan to do this often, consider investing in fondue forks.

Easy Chocolate Fondue Recipe Variations

You can make one small change to this recipe, and it creates many recipes.

Switch out the chocolate chips!

You can use milk chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or mint chocolate chips. Trying out all of the different flavors is a really good idea.

If you use bittersweet chocolate, add a can of evaporated milk, heavy cream, or coconut milk to ensure it is sweet enough.
